[resolved] WP loading "bs-art.ru" in the background (9 posts)

    Hello.
When I check for new plugins from the backend of my blog, after clicking the site starts loading properly, but than it says "waiting for bs-art.ru" in the footer line of the browser (firefox) and sends me to a unformated page with menu links.
This "bs-art.ru" seems to load from various sections of the blog. Is this a trojan, a hack or something. And if so: How do I get rid off it? (the spam plugins don't load, obviously)
    Thanks.
    Marcus

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

Well, that's not the reaction I was expecting! :-) When de-lousing the site, do have a look at the last article that I linked to above. Unless you root out & destroy the back doors, your hacker may walk straight back in again.

Good luck with the clean up.

thanks a ton for your great support. You are right, users have a responsibiltiy to close back doors and watch out. I got your point. I was "handed over" the admin today only, after the webmaster of the URL-domain where the blog is hosted, refused to work on this issue. If they are kind enough to allow me access to the ftp, mysql, cpanel etc. I will surely clean up this mess from scratch.
