Title: wp-load.php data being removed Last modified: May 19, 2020 --- # wp-load.php data being removed * [Dusk Lab](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dusklab/) * (@dusklab) * [5 years, 10 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-load-php-data-being-removed/) * Hi, I have an issue with my website where the contents of the wp-load.php file is being removed randomly. * I have removed a number of plugins to see if that resolves the issue but still no luck. * The website crashes randomly and each time the contents of that file is empty, the site is brought back up by replacing the contents each time. * I have had confirmation from host no malware or virus on the server, I’m waiting for logs. * I have spent days trying to resolve this before posting in here. After upgrading WordPress, I am facing this problem. First of all get a brand new wp-load.php [https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress/blob/master/wp-load.php](https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress/blob/master/wp-load.php) * Replace that with your current wp-load.php, then go into your cpanel, and go to files. Now inside files you select wp-load.php and change the permission from 644 to 444.
