 * Hello, for a while now I’ve been having issues on my site where the wp-load file
would delete the contents of that file causing my site to crash. I keep replacing
the file from the main wordpress download, but within minutes the same thing
   happens.

 * Does your host use any automated malware scanners? Can you ask them?
    Do you
have any security plugin with file protector/scanner ?
 * Meanwhile…
    Carefully follow [this guide](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-my-site-was-hacked/).
When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of [the recommended security measures](https://wordpress.org/support/article/hardening-wordpress/)
and [start backing up your site](https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-backups/).

 * Hi they don’t, but I did have a malware scanner plugin. I did deactivate this
to see if this was the cause, however the issue is still there.
 * Prior to this there wasn’t any detected malware on the site.
 * Will also look at the guide.

 * Hi, I have found the fix, based off yatich his reply in a different thread.

First of all get a brand new wp-load.php [https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress/blob/master/wp-load.php](https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress/blob/master/wp-load.php)
 * Replace that with your current wp-load.php, then go into your cpanel, and go
   to files.
Now inside files you select wp-load.php and change the permission
from 644 to 444. If you are using directphpmyadmin make sure you select wp-load.
php and DESELECT “move to trash” and type 444 in the number slot and click change
   permission.
 * This should fix your issue.
