Support » Fixing WordPress » wp is making a buggy link in form to change header

  • I’m having trouble with one of my blogs in that I cannot change the header image because I “don’t have sufficient permissions to access the page.” Here is the link of the page throwing the error:

    http://testing.dev/wp/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header%3Fpage%3Dcustom-header&step=1

    See how “page=custom-header” is in there twice? On installs where this works that is not present.

    The source for the page shows

    <form method="post" action="/wp/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header%3Fpage%3Dcustom-header&step=1">

    which means that WP is building the wrong link.

    All plugins are disabled, the plugins folder is empty, permalinks are updated and 2013 theme is active.

    Anyone have any ideas? FTR the identical blog database running on another development server does not exhibit this error.
