# WP is adding break tags…

 * Okay, so I have created a page with an unordered list in it, and for some reason
WordPress is adding break tags in the list between sets of li tags (and apparently
putting an li tag in proper format breaks this site too).
 * I can’t find where this is happening (or why). Can someone point me in the right
   direction on this? Thanks…

 * What happens if you enter the list manually?

 * It was a copy / paste of HTML from Dreamweaver over to the text tab in the WYSIWYG.
The code is clean. It’s dynamically adding it. I just don’t know where.

 * Try adding the content manually and see what happens.

 * I can’t do nested lists if I enter it manually… I need a nested list. Not to
mention, it looks correct in the visual side of the WYSIWYG. It’s just happening
   when the page loads.

 * Yes, you can – in both the HTML and Visual Editor.

 * Okay, I can do a nested list in the WYSIWYG, but I get the same result. When
the page loads, it adds break tags in between each set of LI tags.

 * It’s not WordPress itself adding those break tags. Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
