• I have edited wp-config.sample.php and renamed it to wp-config.php, but everytime i go to wp-install.php i get this error: There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. Double check that you updated wp-config.sample.php with the proper database connection information and renamed it to wp-config.php.
And I don’t understand why. http://www.fantasizing.net/b2 is where all my files lie on. Please help me!!

  • It is in the wp-admin folder.
So the address for you should be
    http://www.fantasizing.net/b2/wp-admin/wp-install.php

The normal path to wp-install.php is /wordpress/wp-admin/wp-install.php.

That folder doesn’t exist in my directory, should I just create it?

Normally when you uncompress Wp, it creates it and the files it contains automatically.

    How do I uncompress it?

Just let me ask: what operating system are you using, and what amount of knowledge do you have about it?

um, i use windows xp and I don’t know anything about it. I never had a problem installing b2, I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for me to upgrade. 🙁

Could you please describe exactly the steps you made up to now? It would be easier for us (well, for me at least) to see where you are and where you could have missed something. Although if you were using b2 you should have no problem with wp.

AL0221, I just had the same problem, but eventually I figured it out.
Look at the copy of the WordPress files you extracted onto your own computer. Does it include b2-img, b2-include, wp-admin, and wp-links subfolders? If not, something went wrong when you extracted them. If you use WinZip, make sure the “Use folder names” checkbox is checked.
