    Please help me installing WP on my Cbeyond web server.

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at mysql. This could mean your host's database server is down.

    SQL Site Info from Cbeyond:
    SQL Express Database State: Enabled
    Server By Name: SQLExpress3.mql1300.MSSQLServers.com,1433\SQLExpress3
    Server By IP:,1433\SQLExpress3
    Database Name: cas769
    Login ID: cas769sql

    define('DB_NAME', 'cas769');
    /** MySQL database username */
    define('DB_USER', 'cas769sql');
    /** MySQL database password */
    define('DB_PASSWORD', '**********');
    /** MySQL hostname */
    define('DB_HOST', 'mysql');
    /** Database Charset to use in creating database tables. */
    define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');

    /** The Database Collate type. Don't change this if in doubt. */
    define('DB_COLLATE', '');

    Try confirming your database credentials with your host.

    Can you tell me how you actually created a msyql database on your cbeyond hosting? I'm trying to set up a site for a client and I am not seeing a way to create a new database through their control panel. And their tech support is utterly worthless.

    Since I just got pinged on this topic, I wanted to mention that I was unable to get anywhere with CBeyond tech support and I convinced my client to move to better hosting.

    Thanks for the reply.

    That's unfortunate news, as I know my client won't want to move from cbeyond. They aren't the best but I have to deal with them.

    Personally I use justhost. It's the best I've come across.
