WP in its own directory: SE matters

  • I would like to place WP in its own directory, e.g.:
http://blog.example.com/ will be the Blog address
http://example.com/WP/ will be the WordPress address

    Before, a couple of questions:
1)Will it affect the way SE spider the blog? ( I mean, will it prevent the robots of going further than the index page?)
2)Will it slow down my blog?

Also, I would like to know if anybody experienced any downsides from this practice.
    Thanx

  • I don’t know about the SE… but for sure you’ll have problems with such a setup – WP “hates” this kind of ‘fake’ subdomains and any kind of redirect.
Can’t you just install it in a real, normal subdomain like blog.example.com? (normal = meaning NOT redirected to a subfolder!)
