WP Google Maps – distance in km issue though

    I have found this plug does everything that I want, although I have run into one slight problem.

    I bought the pro version and have set up a map on my home location with a pin centred on my house. The zoom and map itself is great and underneath it displays
    GET DIRECTIONS with the From blank and the To set to my address. If I type in the name of a local town in the To and click the button, it shows the route on the map and list of numbered turn steps with times below, but it says “40.6 km. About 49 mins”

    – Why in km and not miles? I have searched everywhere for a setting to change distance to miles, but have not succeeded. I have Map Lanuage ENGLISH and Map Region United Kingdom for Regional Settings in the plugin, so cannot understand why I am not getting the right units or how to change that?

    Anyway, it otherwise works extremely well and it is producing a nice map where I want it using the shortcode it produces. I used this CSS to get the heading the right size:

    .map-heading {
    font-size: 1.5em;
    font-weight: bold;
    }

    Anyway, great plugin, even if I have not found it has been replaced “WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)”, which I did not realize.

    I am encouraged to know that you will be incorporating a settings panel in the next release, as I was surprised to find that there is now a “WP Go Maps (formerly WP Google Maps)” now, having just purchased the Pro version of the original WP Google Maps, so feared that there might be no further development on the original plugin.

    Thank you also for your quick response! I still strongly recommend WP Google Maps, it is simple to use and very effective. I am using it primarily on an Amateur Radio website for a group that does a lot of portable radio operations, so doing maps to show where a location is and how to get there is a great asset.
