    Hello Team

    I installed the plugin a while back and since then, random users keep popping up on my site without registration.

    May I ask why this plugin adds random users to my site

    Hi yusufamo,
    wpForo is a WordPress forum plugin, it’s not a random user generator plugin and I hope you see this as well. We do this hard work to help peaole create an awesome communities.

    I guess what’s happening on your website and I’ll try to explain what’s going on:
    wpForo comes with its own user registration page/form. Most WordPress websites are under permanent hackers/spammers attack which register users, generate comments, ping and trackback. And I see your website is also under permanent hackers attack. When wpForo is not installed your website doesn’t have native WordPress user registration page and they can’t generate these users. Or maybe you have a custom user registration page which is well protected. But when you install wpForo it brings a native WP user registration page and they use this. We do improve this part and make it more protected which each release. But for now I can recommend these solutions:

    1. If you already have a user registration page, I’d recommend navigate in Dashboard to Forums > Settings > Features admin page and disable wpForo user registration page by setting “No” the “Enable User Registration” option. Then navigate Forums > Settings > Members Tab and put your website user registration page URL in according field of “Custom Authorization URLs” option.

    2. If you don’t have custom user registration page, I’d just recommend to try enable (set Yes) the “Enable User Registration email confirmation” option in Forums > Settings > Features admin page. If it doesn’t help and you still see new user registrations, just set “No” the “Enable User Registration” option located on the same admin page.
