Hello. When I try to back up it says, ‘warning: uploads/wpforms/.htaccess.cpmh3129: unreadable file – could not be backed up’

On the grey bar it says: ‘waiting until scheduled time to retry because of errors’

Eventually, I get an email that says: ‘The backup attempt has finished, apparently unsuccessfully’.

Any advice will be appreciated. Could ‘WP forms’ add-on can be the issue? Could I choose NOT to back up WP forms?

    Thank you 🙂

    Hi,

To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy of the backup log?
This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

    Hi,

In the advanced tools tab can you goto “Wipe settings” and wipe your settings and the setup your Google Drive again

For the warning about your unreadable form, can you goto your settings and under Exclude from uploads >> add an exclusion rule and add the following file: wpforms/.htaccess.cpmh3129:

    Thank you vupdraft.

After clicking ‘add an exclusion rule’, which one should I choose? It says:

Select a way to exclude files or directories from the backup:

    1. File/directory
    2. All files with this extension
    3. All files beginning with given characters
    4. Files/directories containing the given characters in their names

    Thank you very much.

I would do number 1, you should then be able to find the file in a drop down.

Seems to have worked and backup was ‘apparently successful’. Thank you very much for your help.

No problem at all, glad everything is working. If you are happy with the plugin could you leave a review?
