• Hi All

I’m currently trying to setup a website including an online shop and am using the WP-Ecommerce plugin.

I’ve managed to get the products page and Item pages pretty much as I want them to fit in with the theme I’m using (picture perfect) but I’m having problems with the actual functionality of the shop now.

I have the checkout showing in my side bar, which seems to work ok. but it’s not showing the shipping costs.

I want to be able to set the shipping rates individually for each item as there will be a lot of one off items for sale so I need to individually work out the shipping prices.

I have added the shipping prices to the products but adding them to the basket does not show the shipping in the total price. When I got to the checkout, again it only shows the total price of the items and does not include the shipping. Is there a way to get the shopping cart widget and the checkout page to show the cost of shipping and add it to the total?

I want to use Pay Pal Standard for the payment method and would like to be able to to enable the shipping address same as billing address box.

If I leave the shipping modules unticked and unconfigured in the WP-E settings, I get all the billing address and shipping address boxes to be filled in, which seems fine but when I go to proceed I just get an error saying I must select a shipping method. There is no where to do so, thus I’m unable to to proceed!

I tried selecting some of the shipping modules (I can’t remember what exactly I tried cos it was late and I tried several options) and this caused the billing and shipping address input boxes to disappear and I think gave me a selection box for the shipping location (I only want to ship to the uk) but when I clicked on the proceed button, it demanded that I enter a postcode to be able to work out the shipping cost. There was no where for this to be entered!

Surely it must be fairly simple to set it up so that:

    1) I set the price of shipping for each item individually

    2) When an item is added to the shopping basket, the basket shows the price of the item and the cost of shipping and adds both to the total

    3) When the buyer goes to the checkout, they fill in their billing info, either tick the box that says shipping address same as billing, then hit proceed and it buys it.

But I can’t get it working. Can anyone please help me?

  • Hey. I can’t believe nobody has answered and you asked this three months ago. Shabby forums aye? I’ve got a similar problem. Why don’t you set your shipping costs in Paypal so that it automatically sets the costs as soon as your customers checkout? I’ve done that with Google checkout on my site. As to your other problems, I am none the wiser because I am having some problems too. Hope you get it resolved soon. Take care, H

    Shabby forums aye?

why don’t you get support at the forum for the plugin? maybe they aren’t as shabby

I have a similar problem. But the problem isn’t in the plug-in because that shows the correct shipping and tax AND also ADDS IT TO THE TOTAL. My problem is that the WIDGET on the left side DOES SHOW THE CORRECT SHIPPING AND TAX, but under “total” it only totals the merchandise amount without adding the tax. So therefore the left hand widget total is wrong. Please help.
