WP e-commerce vs eShop

  • I’ve got a very small e-commerce project 1 maybe 2 pages of books, dvds and general library type stuff. Looking for a simple solution. In my research the two listed in the topic seem approriate. Any feedback? Good, bad? otherwise?

I’m incredibly biased, so won’t offer an opinion but there are some eShop sites you can browse at:
    http://quirm.net/eshop-sites/
    and
    http://quirm.net/forum/topic.php?id=2927

You could also have a look around the eShop support forum to see what issues people are having and how they are being dealt with.

Try me. I can decide f you are too biased 🙂

Well it’s my favorite ecommerce plugin but then its developer is sitting about 2 feet away from me. On the plus side, it does mean that if I want an extra hook or 2 added to the plugin, I don’t have to reach very far to poke someone. 🙂

    eShop that is I suppose.

I think that you should use the WP e-Commerce Plugin.

You can catch a glimpse of some of the cool new things on the GetShoped blog:
    http://www.getshopped.org/blog

We’ve got iPhone stuff, BuddyPress stuff, ticketing stuff, new code base in 3.8 coming out the door, awesome community of users and developers… and thats just the beginning.

We also have an ex eShop developer working in our office who prefers the WP e-Commerce Plugin UI, and funnily enough that was enough for him to choose the WP e-Commerce Plugin over eShop.

    Not that I’m biased 😉

An ex eShop developer? as I am the only developer of eShop I find that hard to believe.

Uh? There are no ex-eShop developers!

My apologies. You misunderstand me – by developer I mean a WordPress programmer who used to develop e-Commerce sites for his clients using eShop but then decided to use WP e-Commerce because it was more suitable for his clients needs.

Different strokes for different folks 🙂

And this thread not suitable for discussion here – it will soon become even more non-constructive.
