Support » Plugin: WP-Cron Control » WP-Cron Control Impacts Blog Editor

  • After installing WP-Cron Control I found that it deactivated some editor commands. When I deactivated WP-Cron Control, all the editor commands were back. I toggled back and forth several times so I know there is a connect between problem and solution.

While it is incorrect for me to conclude this plugin is broken, it does hamper some editorial commands. I am using “Dean’s FCKEditor For WordPress” on a Genius overlay and I suspect this combination is causing the problem. Then there is always the possibility I do not have WP-Cron Control set up correctly.

I’m looking for a complete explanation of how to control wp-cron.php as it is using up host server resources. With so many complaints about this problem on the Internet, perhaps the coders of WordPress will apply some of their expertise to help users know how to control this wild beast.

  • Yeah, I’m trying to figure out if I can use this to minimize load on my server by running various things in wp-cron.php in an actual cron job, but the description and info on this plugin are horribly limited. I’d also like to get more info.
