 * Hi there! My site has been down (critical error) for over a week now. I have
tried utilizing filezilla to login to the site but nothing seems to be connecting
properly. I am seeking professional services help, however, I need to reset my
wordpress password in order to do so. How can I do this if I am not able to get
to the dashboard? Or any other advice? I feel like my hands are tied and I’ll
never be able to access my site again.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fwp-critical-error%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * This article lists several completely different ways to reset your password.
Any one of them will work and do the job. Find the one that’s right for you and
   use that: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/)
 * Look at the PHPMYADMIN methods of plugging a new password into the database.
 * With respect to the critical error, errors like this are logged. Check the error
log on your server. If you can’t find the log, please contact your host.
 * Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/
debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. [https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)
 * You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of
the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one
to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to deactivate plugins:  [https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)
