   maintained. Just found its wp-content folder missing, resulting in some upload

 * I can call up the website without any problems and also see numerous images that
   are loaded from the `wp-content` directory. So I don’t think it’s gone.
 * Why do you think it’s gone? Because some images are missing? I don’t see any
   missing images in the pages at the moment.
 * If it’s just individual images, I would recommend looking in a backup to see
   if they are still there. If so, you can decide to either upload them again or
   restore the backup. If you don’t have a backup yourself, contact your hoster’s
   support.

 * Hi [@threadi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/threadi/)
 * Thanks for your advice.
 * You are right.
 * On following page;
   [https://europe.tours-video.com/guernsey/](https://europe.tours-video.com/guernsey/)
 * Following icon is missing
   [https://europe.tours-video.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Click-mts_arrow_red15.png](https://europe.tours-video.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Click-mts_arrow_red15.png)
 * I don’t know how to recover it. Can I add a new icon? If YES, and how?
 * Thanks

 * This was apparently deleted from the media database. So you have 3 options:
    - Do you still have the file lying around somewhere locally? Then re-upload
      it from there and replace the integration on this page with it.
    - If you don’t have it locally, you can check whether it is available in a backup.
      If you don’t have a backup yourself, contact your hoster’s support.
    - If they don’t have the file either, you could check [https://web.archive.org](https://web.archive.org)
      to see if they have backed it up somehow.
 * If the last option does not work either, the file will be lost and you will have
   to recreate it.

 * Hi [@threadi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/threadi/),
 * I have checked the cPanel of hosting company’s server;
   europe.tours-video.com/
   wp-content/uploads/2020/11/
 * I couldn’t find the icon “Click-mts_arrow_red15.png” in that folder. Neither
   I have its backup. I would create a new one, in the same name, and upload it
   there. It is only an icon.
 * Could I do it in this way? Thanks
 * Regards
 * **Edit:** I use this icon on multiple pages of this website. I don’t know why
   it was deleted automatically?

 * Hi [@threadi](https://wordpress.org/support/users/threadi/),
 * Again. Problem solved as follow;
 * Create a new icon of size 18.9 kB of same name “Click-mts_arrow_red15.png” and
   upload it to cPanel
   wp-content/uploads/2020/11/ (folder)
 * Now problem solved.
 * I’m curious to know why the original file was deleted?
 * Anyway, lot of thanks for your advice.

 * That is not a real solution. WordPress does not recognize the file. The reason
   that it is displayed is that the content of the page has saved the name of the
   file. However, as soon as you edit the content, this knowledge could be lost
   as the file no longer exists in the media library.
 * The clean way again: add the newly created graphic to the media library. Then
   edit the page and insert the newly inserted graphic where the old one was previously
   visible.
 * We can’t tell you why this happened. Since the file has disappeared from the
   media library, there are only 2 possibilities:
    - You or another user in your WordPress backend have deleted the file in the
      Media Library.
    - A plugin could also have deleted it there, e.g. an overzealous cleanup plugin.
      You would need to know whether you are using or have used one of these or
      find out for yourself in your project.

 * The deleted image/file is only an icon created by me in the past. The icon is
   used on many pages of this website. All of them are embedded linking either to
   articles of other websites or to other pages of this website.
 * Now I re-create a new icon with the same name and upload it to its original folder.
   Now all links come back, working without problem by clicking the new icon.
