  • I know it is rather a basic question, but how do I get to the wp-content directory?? I have just signed up to version 2.7.1 via Blue Host. Thanks.

  • FTP or the file manager part of your control panel (if you have it).

Okay, for anyone else like me who has been searching their brains out to find this dumb wp-content folder (yes, I’m brand new to wordpress and new websites in general and am clueless about how to set this all up), if you have a control panel (I’m using HostGator), go to the File Manager, select the ‘Public FTP Root’ option (again, not positive if this is the same for others not on HostGator), and click the “Go” button. The screen that comes up will have a section on the left with a bunch of folders and + signs next to them. Click the ‘public_html’ folder and you should then see your wp-content folder.
    Hope this helps someone out.
