wp-content, wp-images, wp-includes, etc. All these folders are visible to anyone typing the URL. How can I restrict availability of those directories to links on my blog?

you can make an empty index.htm and place it in the folders. Then people will get that instead of directory listing. Someone fluent in .htaccess can tell of a more sophisticated method :)

What I have done is to password protect the wp-admin folder as I don't want people accessing that to try and logon to my site. (Did that through my cpanel)

You could change your .htaccess and add

    Options All -Indexes

Which means that people won't be able to browse folders on your website as they can now.
