    Hi,
A friend of mine need somebody to finish her website, after a long and painful time with a “lead” web developer. She asked me if I can do it. I’m not wp dilettant but I’m not so advanced either and her website is very simple, for that reason I took the project. But I’m very confused, because it’s documentation is unknown to me.
For example I hope somebody can explain to me how is possible the wp-config.php to be pointed to a local host but the website to be visible/alive to anyone?
Sorry if the answer is obvious but i can’t see it!

    Best,
    Prolet

  • If you are referring to the hostname in the wp-config.php file, it is quite common for web hosts to configure the database server to use localhost. In this instance, it refers to the remote server – not a local machine.

    esmi,
    That was quick and brilliant!
Thank you so much for the information.
I didn’t know it, because my host has a specific name.
    THANK YOU!

    Glad I could help 🙂
