Support » Fixing WordPress » WP-Config.php not recognised or Install got stuck in loop

  • I have a WP site that has been installed successfully for 8 months and has now suddenly stopped working. When accessed, instead of its front page, it goes into the WP ‘5 minute install routine’ as though the wp-config.php file has lost its information. No error messages.

I am also installing a new WP site on the same server; this also has the same problem in as much as I cannot get past the ‘Welcome to the 5 minute install’ page. I fill out the required information, press the ‘Install’ button and it just returns back to the same install page. It’s got stuck in a loop. WP has been downloaded-a-fresh and reinstalled.

The wp-config file does recognise the database because if I purposely change the database name within the wp-config file, it retaliates with an error message.
Both the above sites are hosted on Namesco Zeus servers. I am also waiting for a reply from them as I think the fault is at their end but any help here would be beneficial.
Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions
