# wp-config.php file

 * Hello everyone. I am new to WP as of today. What steps can be taken to ensure
   that the database information on wp-config.php is protected? I noticed there 
   isn’t any directory around it to allow for htaccess to be installed.

 * No one can read the info on wp-config.php unless they have access to FTP or access
   to the server admin panel. So you could leave the file alone.

 * You can put an .htaccess file in your wp root folder; in fact, if you’re going
   to use rewrite rules of any sort for wp specifically (such as for permalink structure),
   the .htaccess file has to be in the wp root folder….
