 * First, I did do a search, but couldn’t find an answer to my problem: About two
   weeks ago, I downloaded my entire website: [http://www.communichi.org](http://www.communichi.org)
   into Dreamweaver. However, as I was downloading, I noticed that inside the images
   subfolder of the WordPress blog, there were about 300 junk files which seemed
   the work of some sort of spam/hacker attack. They had lots of nonsense keywords.
   Actually, it looked like they had been there since last October, without causing
   any damage, but I decided I wanted to get rid of them.
 * And here, I made a fatal error, I deleted the files directly from the server,
   not my local copy of the website, and, although I thought my blog was backed
   up, it wasn’t, and….after deleting the files, apparently, I deleted some files
   which were critical, and the blog crashed.
 * The webserver (AN hosting) helped me to restore all the missing files, except
   that they said that somehow the wp_config.php was damaged and needed to be rebuilt.
   They say that the database, which contains the 125 or so blog posts I’ve written
   over the past 2.5 years is intact, but they are inaccessible because somehow
   the wp-config.php file was somehow damaged. They said they rebuilt this file
   based on the username/password info they had, but it still didn’t work. The web
   designer (I am not one), also tried to rebuild it without success. He said, probably
   there is a fix, but he doesn’t have the time (he is no longer a webdesigner).
   So now I am turning to the virtual universe for help to restore the thousands
   of hours of writing I did over the past years. I’m hoping someone can please
   work on this with me.
 * Thanks,
 * Jordan

 * Open the wp-config-sample file. Fill in the blanks. DB name, user, password,
   host, etc. and save it as wp-config.php. If you don’t know how to do that, try
   what I have in the next paragraph.
 * Is your DB accessible thru your website interface? If so, all the information
   is there. You can also try this, [http://educhalk.org/blog/?p=148](http://educhalk.org/blog/?p=148)

 * Okay, thanks kmessinger, I’ll study this, or share this with someone who may
   be able to help!
