I get the same wp-config problem that a lot of people seem to get. However, I have mySQL, I know my username and password are correct, and from what Brinkster will cough up (their support is not very easy to navigate) I have the correct server.
I’ve tried every permutation, and yet install.php still does not recognize my database.
Are there any common pitfalls I might be guilty of?
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql3.brinkster.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?
