Hi, I’m having exactly the same problem, using 3.2.1
This is because you web host has not properly configured the ZipArchive package in PHP. You need to use a web host that supports the PHP ZipArchive library and has enough resources for your server account (ram and disk space).
codetree- Please don’t put AFFILIATE links on these forums. I’ve removed them, and your sig, from the post. Neither are permissable.
dmeek,
That is a real answer, the problem you’re experiencing is beyond my control.
Do you know if your server has php errors turned on or is recording them to a log (ex. error_log … etc). If I could see the message that PHP is dying on, I might be able to provide a little more insight.
Thanks,

sorry codetree, i was confused by Ipstenu. I’ve requested the php error log from my server, and I’ll report back when I get more info. Thanks, David!
The WP Complete Backup plugin worked for a couple of months, but about 10 days ago it started working when I wanted a BU; nothing happened for a couple of minutes – and then dasboard main area just states the name of the plugin, and nothing beneath. Has this plugin been updated to work with current version of WordPress – or is this a dead pluginn. Please mail answer to [ email redacted ]

Hi, I will try once more to get an answer to my question above – to check if there are anyone at all in the admin at this site who is responsible enough to answer.
Codetree says (above):”This is because you web host has not properly configured the ZipArchive package in PHP. You need to use a web host that supports the PHP ZipArchive library and has enough resources for your server account (ram and disk space).”
This sounds extremely unlikely – since the plugin first worked, and then failed to work. Also: Creating a backup to my PC from a localhosted site on my PC has nothing to do with an external server – since I backup to my own PC.
Is this site dead, and are there any hopes for a constructive answer?
If not: Why do you bother WP users with a plugin that several users have written to you about pointing out the plugin’s errors???
If you can’t fix the plugin I suggest you delete it from the WP plugin repository – and save many users a lot of time.
