# wp-comments-post.php – 500 server error

 * comments are posted, wordpress user friendly are displayed but when a comment
   is posted i get

 * anyone – I’ve tried deactivating plugins – debugging with error reports but I’m
   still at a loss?????????

 * ok – deactivated plugin weboptimizer and then cleared the cache – this is now
   working

 * I got the same problem – in my case it wasn’t weboptimizer (not using that one)
   but **Cimy Swift SMTP** causing the 500 internal server error. After deactivating
   posting comments was working fine again.
 * This is on a WP 2.8.4 installation by the way. Pre 2.8 I haven’t noticed this
   plugin to cause problems.
