WP cannot find page

Developed wordpress site on MAMP mac laptop.
Deployed to fresh install on windows desktop that is using WAMP by copying content folder from dev laptop, overwriting windows content folder.
Refreshed .htaccess: permalinks->default->permalinks->post

Created a new page: bob, verified slug.
Clicked on view page inside Admin interface, WP said it could not find it.
Created new menu, dragged page to menu. Clicked on bob in nav area; page could not be found.
Hand typed page location in URL: http://localhost/people/bob Again WP failed to find page.

What could I be missing. I created several other test pages and could not nav to them either.
