I have requested from the plugins team that this plugin be removed from the repository, with no response. The initial request was almost two months ago now and I have received no feedback. I will be immediately disabling a critical piece of the authentication process that I have been hosting at my own cost for the past year.

Anyone currently using the plugin shouldn’t see any change. Any new installs of the plugin will fail to authorize.

If anyone would like to take over development of this plugin please feel free to contact me.

  • Hello,

I’d be interested in picking this up. It seems like a useful plugin that should continue. Let me know if you want to pass it off.

    Thanks

Send me an email at mark at temeritystudios dot com

Transferring will be a slow process at the moment, I have a few projects on the go and a planned absence starting next week that will severely impact my ability to react in a timely fashion. If you’re still interested, send me an email.

@modded any updates on the continuation of this plugin? Has it been forked into a new plugin or will it be continuing with the existing plugin option?

@modded Wondering the same as sivivatu above, is there any updates about continue? 🙂

Nothing yet. If/when the author responds, I’ll revisit this. Still a useful plugin.

@temeritystudios We have no emails from you at all at plugins@wordpress.org (not even in spam) however based on this thread, we will close the plugin for you.

If someone else wants to adopt this, please have a read through https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-org/take-over-an-existing-plugin/

If you ever email us and don’t get a reply from someone within 7 business days, ask about it in Slack (in the #pluginreview channel).

    Thanks @ipstenu!

This was the only plugin that did this…please someone take over 🙁

It will be interesting to see where this goes. Hopefully, someone picks it up. It’s been a fantastic plugin. I wish I had the time and ability to do it myself.

Any update on picking this up, @modded ? It will be so tough to lose the functionality of this plugin. I hope you or someone else is able to bring it back to life.

I’m planning to uninstall this plugin and losing bitly shortlinks with my custom domain, but I’d love to continue using it if a new owner claimed this plugin.

I, too, hope someone will pick up this plugin, as it will stop working March 1, when the v2 and v3 versions of the Bit.ly API will stop working….

    Hello,

I would like to pick this up, although I am not fully comfortable with their V4 yet, but will definitely try it out.

    Is the offer still valid?

@ksm899 that would be awesome! Hoping @temeritystudios can help transition the plugin!
