    Hi,

I’ve been more than annoyed at the nag about the bug in WP bakery lately, I have contacted WP Bakery, though the premium support, and they said that particular bug was fixed, and while I didn’t check their code for myself to see if they indeed had fixed it or not, and it’s not mentioned on their change log (they might have forgotten ?), the red alert nag on WP SSO is becoming more than annoying for me, for several reasons :
    – It can’t be dismissed anymore, even for a day
    – It’s repetitive
    – It’s not my job to police the development of WP Bakery (though I dutifully filed a bug report with them asking for clarification, and as stated before they did say it was fixed))
    – It’s not your job to police WP Bakery development (or everyone else for that matter. If bug there is, and it compromises security signal it to specialists like Wordfence, who in turn will analyze it, release counter measures if needed or possible, and work with the developers of the offending plugin to have a patch released if still necessary. (it’s actually their job and they’re rather good at it)

To sum things up, if you want still put that warning out, at least make it so that it can be dismissed, for a month or preferably forever. Yours users shouldn’t have to endure that constant nagging.

    Thanks in advance

The bug in WP Bakery affects the functions and features of WPSSO, so yes, the notice is necessary.

I have kept an eye on the changelog, and as you said, no mention of this bug fix was added to their changelog – if they don’t mention fixing the bug, then there’s no way for customers to know if the bug is fixed. I’m surprised they decided to exclude this bug fix from their logs. Did they tell you in which version it was fixed?

    Hi,

Sorry for my irritability then. Though I still stand by my ask about making it dismissible and for longer than a day :))

What they said on January 15 2020 was :

    Hi,

This issue has been already fixed in our latest release 6.1. Please update the plugin to the latest version.

    Thank you,

Your ticket (#87323) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email.

I just sent a reply to that mentioning that their change log had not been updated to reflect that. may be they’ll wake up 🙂

Thanks for your quick reply 🙂

Oh, they just replied about the change log while I was replying to you:

    Hi,

In the changelog we mainly add any major changes or new features. We will keep it in mind for future.

    Thank you,

Well I’m guessing that means you’ll have to check the bug fix manually in their code if you want to be sure they did it…

    Hi,

I saw you updated WPSSO to version 6.21.1 in order to remove the nagger, thanks for that.

    Have a good day 🙂
