• I have installed / deleted / installed the plugin repeatedly and it refuses to show up in my plugin management panel.

Here is the path it is installed to.

    /public_html/theruralindependent/wp-content/plugins/WP Backup/backupwordpress

Any help would be most appreciated.

Also, if this bombs out, any recommendations for other backup options. I want to upgrade to WP 2.3.3 and need to backup first.

  • The answer is in your question. You have nested the folders. The path should be wp-content/plugins/backupwordpress with all of the actual files and subfolders residing in ‘backupwordpress’

By the way, where did you get the folder WP Backup from? You created that yourself didn’t you? Also, your plugns folder is a mess – you have a plugin folder within your plugin folder.

Thanks Len – I just looked at my folder structure and you are right, it’s a mess. I did find the backup nested, corrected it and now the plug-in works.

As for the backup folder – no, I really do not recall creating that. In fact, I am quite confident in saying I did not create it.

I’ll work at cleaning up my folder structure.

I appreciate your quick and accurate response!
