  • I am currently hosting with HOSTGATOR. I have fully finished my website using Hostgator. But I don’t need the website to be LIVE for the next 2 months so I want to cancel my membership with HOSTGATOR but keep my site/content on a file.

Similar to migrating site but I don’t want to migrate right away. SO Is is possible to back up my current site and delete my hosting account with Hostgator, and then when I need to host my site again, I will sign up to a different hosting server and upload my files that I backed up before, and I will get the EXACT SAME WEBSITE with all buttons and links EXACTLY THE SAME ? Is that possible ???

I don’t want to lose all the work I have done on my current site, but I don’t want to pay for hosting when I don’t need the content to be live for the next 2 months.

I am very new to this building a website so PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP ME THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

That’s a lot of work for just two months.

Anyhow, there are several plugins that could do what you want. Many folks like https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

I may not need it for 6 months, not just 2 months, so it’s useless if I continue to host it. I thought Duplicator are only useful for migrating site straight away ? would it save my files if I don’t migrate right away ?

Read the docs! Whatever plugin you use, be sure to validate the backup — that you have all the files and database.
