wp auto closes comments when I edit or update post. Intermittent

    I am running wp 2.7.1 and when I edit a post that is already published and hit update it sometimes turns off comments, I don’t even realize it has done it until someone emails me about it, it is super annoying! It is intermittent, does not happen everytime, and I have gotten into the habit of double checking after I update BUT it is usually the ONE time I forget to check it has done it!

    The write/edit page loads kinda slow, it almost completely loads then hangs on the “upload/Insert icons above the text box- at least that is what i think it is hanging on because that seems to be the last thing to load.

    any ideas? I am trying to do a search for the issue but no luck so far….
