    I’m trying to get the audio player to work. I followed all the instructions found on the support site here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/

    But my blog is not accepting the short code of [ audio ] and the link (without those spaces obviously).

    Could this have something to do with my style sheets? Or that I have an older theme running on my blog? I’d really like to try and embed this audio file as a player rather than just a link.

    I searched the help topics here and all the posts I seem to find have been closed with no resolution posted, so I thought I’d take a chance and ask.

    Currently the post I am working on is set to private, but I don’t think it’s just that post that has the problem.

    I have also tried linking the mp3 file directly from my server and using the Media Upload tool.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hmm, get it now. I have to install a plugin for a self-hosted blog. oops. sorry.

    Ok, so maybe this isn’t resolved because the player just isn’t showing up. All that shows up is the code.

    Have checked header & footer. Have made sure I have current flash. Have checked this in IE (latest) Firefox (latest) and Google Chrome (which I use normally). Still only shows up as the [ audio : ] code thing.

    I have also checked out the troubleshooting section of the plugin site.

    I guess my blog just doesn’t want to play audio. 😉 But if anyone can help, I’d really appreciate it.
