WP as CMS todo’s

  • Hello everyone!

I’m going use WP as CMS, since it gives validating code, and is a great flexible engine indeed.

I got a couple of questions:

    1. Is it possible to flawlessly set directory index via .htacces with WP? I wrote a line DirectoryIndex index.php?page_id=1, and then I had to manually update all navigational links (add index.php to ?page_id=x for pages, and ?p=x for entries). Is it possible to add “index.php” somewhere in the backend?

    2. Are there any other necessary things to do, to run WP as CMS?

    thanks in advance.

  • depending on your server settings, try going to options -> permalinks, and change it to custom using: /%category%/%postname%/ – that will remove the numbers, and will replace it with the final part of the URL being the name of the post or page.
