    Oh my, this is driving me nuts — after autoupdating to 2.8.3; all is working ok — excpt when i clicked on the plguin menu on thesdebar (admin side), i’m brought to Page Not Found msg.. if i clicked on the /wp-admin/plugin-install.php or /wp-admin/plugin-editor.php; these work fine ??? what am i missing here? there is no error msg / log so i’m basically numb.

    just to add.. when i checked my root folder, 99Mb each of a few files called core.XXXXX (XXXX in random numbers) are suddenly created. this is crazy and scary.. possible injection attack?

    ok. resolved, deleted core-control plugin, and back to normal 🙂 i hope this helps someone. rgds
