# wp-admin/install.php- HTTP 404 NOT FOUND

 * I downloaded WordPress 2.8.6 but I am unsuccessful installing it. I don’t have
   a website host, I am trying to install WordPress locally on a Windows computer.
 * I have installed WAMP and phpMyAdmin. After downloading the \wordpress folder
   to my c: I proceeded to go to my browser to run [http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php](http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php).
   I receive the error message HTTP 404 Not Found. If I use my IP address [http://xxx.xxx.xxx.x/wp-admin/install.php](http://xxx.xxx.xxx.x/wp-admin/install.php)
   I get the error IE Cannot Display the Web Page. Can anyone help me troubleshoot
   why I can not run the WordPress install?
