wp-admin posting area – visual & html shows only source code

    i cannot seem to get the kitchen sink. my html and visual editor only shows the source code of post or pages. the same is true when switching to twenty-ten theme.

    some of the features or windows that should be present due to a plugin being activated do not show either. an example would be the more fields plugin, there’s no fields in wp-admin, no matter theme i use.

    I have 53 plugins activated. can this cause a problem? what is the maximum amount of plugins i should limit to? or does it matter?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
