There may be a conflict with another plugin, perhaps.
Can you try temporarily disabling all plugins except Shield, particularly if you have caching running, and test your login?
If it works, then re-enable all plugins 1 by 1 and test each time until you find which plugin causes it to break
Hi Paul
Thanks for the quick response.
I will do the conflict test and will update here.
thanks

Hi,
Since we haven’t received any update from you in the past 6 months, we are closing this thread.

I am using the ManageWP plugin to manage multiple web sites. After the latest update a week ago I possibly updated the ShieldSecurity application which then disconnected from the Worker plugin used by ManageWP and then after trying manually to access my web site I remained permanently logged out, because I was not able to obtain the OTP via Email. It did not work many times, so I can’t enter and manually update my site or change anything to the plugins, incl. ShieldSecurity. It is not the professional version and I can’t get help anywhere. I tried using the force off file to enter the site, but since I am also using a hidden login page which I configured earlier on ShiedSecurity, it only shows the standard 404 response and I remain out. renaming the plugin wp-simple-firewall also did not work for me. If you have any idea of how I can reverse things and enter my web site, please let me know. Something happened to the 2FA after the latest update and I don’t get emails with OTP. Thank you!

If you renamed the plugin folder and it still doesn’t work, you have a problem with caching likely. The shield plugin cannot function of you rename it. It can’t. So you have a problem elsewhere. Also, if you use forceoff then you should use the original wp-login.php address to login since forceoff will disable functionality.
I’d you’re not using a dedicated plugin for your email, you should expect to have email trouble:

Thank you, Paul. I renamed the plugin folder and I was able to login into my web site after clearing the cache, but then I cannot make the changes and the updates of the plugins manually. No plugins are accessible from there. When I read the instructions I learned the I have to rename the wp-simple-firewall plugin which I did. Is this the plugin for Shield Security? So, what I am supposed to do from here in a step-by-step manner to achieve the desired result. Should I delete the whole wp-simple-firewall plugin in the renamed plugin folder and then rename the folder back to “plugins” without the wp-simple-firewall plugin this time and try to install it again as a new folder and make all settings and updates to this version?
Thank you for the earlier idea.
Best, Ula
