Hi. I've been dropped in to updating content on several wp backed sites and I've only been using wp for less than a week! I tried logging into one of our sites today but noticed the dashboard was different...for instance, there wasn't an 'appearance' option. So while looking into that I realized I had loggied in via wp-login and not wp-admin. SO previously, when I logged in the first time today I tried to login using wp-admin (it actually brought the page up), I'd input my info but the page would just reload, with no error message, simply prompting me to reenter my login info. So I played around and got to mysite.com/login-wp and got in that way.

But now I see I need to get in on the admin side and now when I go to mysite.com/wp-admin it loads but redirects to this:
    http://www.overtheairmedia.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.overtheairmedia.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

the only changes i've made is i changed the password to our wp account as well as our hosting account.

It is supposed to work that way but you can log in with wp-login.php also.

    Are you using FF?

but wp-login.php won't allow me to edit the appearance of the page, correct?

Firefox? Yes, that's what I'm using and I've also tried it in safari to no avail. When I get home I'll give it one more try on a different computer in case it really just is my cookies/cache.

No, it is just another path to the login sceen. The dashboard should be the same no matter where you long in from.

FF has a problem with it's cache and the wp login. Different things seem to wake it up. For one person login in with or without the www seemed to work. For another changing dashboard, settings, general, adding a www or taking it way from the site address. Another, an upgrade to FF5.
