# wp-admin doesnt display categories

 * my current issues is that wp-admin will not show my categories. the correct number
   does show on the dashboard, and if I got directly to the MySQL database using
   phpMyAdmin I can see that they still exists on ‘wp_terms’, but for some reason
   they won’t show up on the categories section on wp-admin. not even when I create
   or edit a post. all my posts that had categories assigned to them now show “uncategorized”
 * does any one know what may be happening? or has this happened to any one else?

 * You might try re-uploading the wp-admin folder from a fresh copy of WordPress
   via your FTP.

 * thanks for the quick reply!
 * sadly this didn’t help. it’s odd. the categories page says I do have 14 items,
   but where the list should be it just says “no items found”
 * also, on the live site. any page that was shown by category does not show. and
   the category section of each post is blank.
