[Resolved] Wp-Admin Dashboard Broken after Upgrading to Latest

  • Hi I am getting the following message while accessing wp-admin after upgrading:

“Fatal error: Call to a member function register_handler() on a non-object in /home/simplete/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 953”

    The Site is “http://simpletechlife.in/wp-admin/”
    Thanks
    Praveen.

  • Use FTP and rename plugins folder (if you have them) and see if it helps.

    Hi Krishna

I Tried that and the issue persists , let me know what can be done.

    Praveen

This error can be caused by corrupt core files.

    – Try changing the current theme
    – Renaming the plugins folder (You already did this)
    – Make a backup and re upload the latest WordPress Install

If you used the auto upgrade feature and PHP does not have rights or it is a unstable server, files can become corrupt.

    Hi Justin , thanks

I am unable to change the theme as no access to wp-admin because of the above error. Do you recommend a deletion and a re install , I was thinking of learning something about wordpress by debugging this issue 🙂

For doing what Justin suggested you can log in to your hosting control panel or use FTP, can’t you?

    Hi Krishna

I have tried all the above options :

    1. Renamed the theme via Ftp but does not work.
    2. Renamed plugins dir , that does not work.
    3. Will try a reinstall now
