I tried changing the plugin name

Does it mean you tried resetting the plugin folder?

If not, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.

How would I reset the plugins from FTP or File manager?

All I did was “Change the plugin folders name” thinking wordpress would not enable any plugins since it wouldn’t find them.

I’m currently experiencing pretty much the same problem. If you want to at least login to the dashboard, add ‘.old’ to the end of your theme name and login. Then change it back and refresh the dashboard.

Has there been a wordpress update in recent days or something? I’ve seen a few threads with the same problem.
