Support » Fixing WordPress » WP-Admin Browser Uploader Issue With FORCE_SSL_ADMIN

  • I recently set FORCE_SSL_ADMIN in wp-config.php and now the browser uploader in wp-admin no longer works. This was working fine before adding the FORCE_SSL_ADMIN = true in wp-config.php but now still attempts to upload images via HTTP instead of HTTPS and the HTTP POST will not work with the HTML 302 redirect to HTTPS. The flash uploader works fine but I would love to get the browser upload working as well. Does anyone have any tips on how to make the Upload button in the browser uploader POST to HTTPS instead of HTTP?

  • Can anyone else confirm this to be working so I can limit it to something on my end?

Anyone else having the same issue?

    Is anyone else using FORCE_SSL_ADMIN?

No wonder nobody else was having this issue! 🙁 I tried to make the issue more complicated than it really was.

I wanted to post how I resolved in case anyone else ran across the same issue. The issue is with the Flexible Uploader plugin that is for older versions of WordPress. Basically get_option(site_url) needs to be replaced with admin_url.

I noted the code and details relating to the error here.
