 * Hi,
 * That’s as .htaccess password.

 * Someone or a plugin must have created it.
    If you have no idea. You can ask your
   web hosting company for help to remove it.
 * Thank you.

 * Hi,
 * Please ask your web hosting company for help to remove it.
 * This is an open forum and it’s against WordPress forum rules to ask for any login
   access.
    [https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff](https://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff)
 * Therefore, it’s not possible for ask to help you find it.
 * Thank you.

 * Yes I can understand, I just wanted to know whether it is WP issue or other,
   seems like other since it is hosting related.
 * Only thing is it is not visible in my cpanel file manager.

 * Seems to be a problem with your host. Have you contacted your host?

 * Hi Suyash87,
 * I think most text editors will show hidden files. For instance, I use Sublime
   Text 3 and it shows hidden files. You can also show all hidden files on your
   system, but not recommended.
 * I would just try to download a text editor like Sublime Text to see the hidden
   files.

 * I guess you have activated Password Protect in Cpanel.
 * If you dont have the option in your File manager saying “Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)”
 * Look down at the bottom of Cpanel, if you are using x3 theme in Cpanel you will
   then have the option to “Reset all Interface Settings”. Just as this one on the
   screenshot
 * [http://take.ms/mhm6B](http://take.ms/mhm6B)
 * Once it is reset, you click back file manager, the you will have the option to
   tick the box for “Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)”
 * From there you will see the .htaccess and .htpasswd in the public_html.
    However,
   you just need to remove .htpasswd
 * That should fix the problem.
