  • Hi @newcelic

I’m not aware of specific errors like those after updating, but if you can share a link to your site, I can take a look to see what CSS you’d need.

Thank you very much for the quick answer,

Is that I made a backward version of WP to 5.2.3 and currently I continue with this.

    Thanks again Senff .

    Hi @newcelic,

Just to follow up, it does seem like there is conflicting CSS or something going on here. I’m not sure why updating WordPress itself would cause this, but if you wanted to create a staging site where you can update WordPress we can try to help investigate.

If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

I also got an error when updating a client’s site. First time, too. The specific message was:
“The authenticity of WordPress-5.3-new-bundled.zip could not be verified as no signature was found.” with a message that the installation failed.

I checked the front end and the site seemed to be working (thankfully since it’s a high-traffic site).

I then went to the dashboard and was instructed to update the database (click) and did so. When I reloaded the dashboard the site was indeed working 5.3.

    Anyway, it’s a mystery.

@marveisen The error you mentioned does not relate to the Storefront theme itself.

That message from WordPress about the signature is informational. If the update fails after showing that message it could be a time out or server resource issue.

If you are having trouble updating WordPress to version 5.3, I would recommend taking a look at this thread:

Thank you all for the interest offered. I use the Storefront template, nothing ever happened to me when updating WP, it’s the first time. I was very surprised because the truth is that with Storefront everything has been great. When I got this problem (search widget inserted just below the header cart, everything else was correct), removing the cart also stopped seeing the search widget. Then, I removed all the CSS from my site and put the cart back in the header and everything remained the same, a true mystery. Please, do not close this thread because soon I will try my installation in a virtual machine and I pass you a link so you can take a look and it may still work for others.

    Thanks again.

    Hi @newcelic,

    Hello friends,

I have already solved the problem. It was an adjustment in the cache plugin, this one in particular: Widget de caché Reducir el número de consultas SQL

Thank you very much to all.

    I close this topic.

    A greeting!! 🙂

I’m glad to know that you were able to solve the problem. I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
