# WP 4.1.2 cannot create admin/css

 * Hi folks,
 * After attempting update using the latter release of 4.1, the update seems to 
   run and then I get this error:
 * Could not create directory.: wordpress/wp-admin/css
    Installation Failed
 * I have turned off all plug-ins etc…
    any suggestions??

 * I would really rather avoid going that path if at all possible. I’ll keep it 
   in mind as a last resort.

 * Check file permissions on the server? It seems like the server is preventing 
   WordPress from creating a directory.

 * Thanks for the input, I followed g.’s advice and did a Manual Update. all seems
   to be running fine.
