WP 3.0 is garbage!!

    I’ve used WordPress for a long time and NEVER needed to come in here but this is a special occasion. As the title states it, WP 3.0 BLOWS!

    I started when it was in early versions of the 2.0 series, all my other blogs are on 2.9.2 and works perfectly, never had problems and never had to contact my host about any problems. I started a new site and it automatically installed 3.0, didn’t have the option of the version.

    Can’t backup the DB, I get an error message on every page and most of the time, updating pages result in error. I was just a download link to get version 2.9.2 or id it work too bloody well that we can’t use it anymore?

    I teach people how to use WordPress professionally and quite frankly, I can’t keep up with the complaints.

    I can’t find a download page anywhere on the web to download 2.9.2

    Anyone have one??

    As for 3.0, it was tested by several hundred volunteers over the span of six months. Most of the problems are related to conflicting plugins which use functions that were warned of being deprecated back in 2.9 and can be resolved by resettings the plugins and reactivating each one individually until you find the cause.

    Yes, there are a few non-plugin issues that made it past the hundreds of volunteer testers, but these will be resolved in the upcoming 3.0.1 release.

    Can’t backup the DB

    There are a variety of backup methods available. The only one that would be affected by a WordPress upgrade would be an incompatible backup plugin, of which there are plenty to choose from.

    I get an error message on every page and most of the time, updating pages result in error.

    do you always take stuff so personally? I mean, creating a user name to just say wp 3 blows? I think you need to get a grip.
