# WP 3.0 Custom Menu Problem HELP!

 * Hey guys, when I go in to the appearance – menu options and try to create a drop
   down menu, which requires you to click hold and drag a menu to the right of the
   one above it, so when I do that I have posted a picture of what exactly happens:

 * It adds all these blank empty boxes, the longer I hold it they just keep getting
   more and more.
 * Also when I add a new menu it automatically renames it as ‘ ] ‘. I cannot figure
   out why this is happening it pretty much started happening randomly one day.
 * If someone can help me out I will really appreciate it!

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the available memory?

 * I just went through each of those steps and no luck.
 * I dont know what else to do and I really dont want to re-install WP right now.
 * Anyone else got any idea what could be going on?

 * Try contacting your hosts and see if they can increase the available memory.
