WP 2.9 Installed just fine here. =)

    Seeing all the bleh posts lately, wanted to say all went seamlessly on a new 2.9 install. Even got the Akismet and a Captcha plugins workin’ fine. So, it can work.

    I think many people have two issues:

    1. cheap azz hosts that suck.
    2. zero knowledge of how to Webmaster.

    I’ve been doing web stuff since 1996 and run on a powerful Reseller Host…it helps a lot.

    Both of those can be remedied though with a little research and effort.

    Yes, I haven’t had a problem with the eight or so sites that I am managing. But stuff happens

    My biggest issue as of now is a few of the plug in providers that I use have not kept up.. wordpress wiki is one. Also the widget menu does not work.. cannot drag widgets to sidebars..

    Hmm, IDK mate.

    They appear to work fine here using Opera 10.10, I haven’t tried doing it in other browsers though.

    have you tried to edit any posts pages using 2.9? seems like the date and time edits, ability to set post status schedule, make private or set post passwords menu area is broken too.. using dreamhost and have three sites running all of them work fine on 2.8.6

    tried all of these on Firefox, Opera 10, Safari on a Mac and IE7 in windows

    I finally figured this out.. looks like Gixaw plug in was the culprit.. I uninstalled and embedded a link to the chat on an inline post instead.. works fine now
