• I made the mistake of installing WP 1.5.2 two weeks before 2.0 was released; so I’m sure, everybody is focusing on the ‘new hotness’ and support for the ‘old and busted’ will soon fade. However, my question is, I’m trying to customise my rss feed to support iTunes RSS Tags for my podcast specifically <itunes:owner> <itunes:image <itunes:subtitle> , etc. I’m just wondering if I edit rss2.php and include those tags will they show up in itues? Or is there a more porper way to do this? Thanks in advance

  • There is an article in the WP Codex on podcasting you shoud read — you can find it by searching for podcast. As far as I know, WP 1.5.2 automatically inserts the appropriate enclosures into your feed, and many people have reported problems with this in 2.0.

By the way, 1.5.2 is not “old and busted.” It still worked just fine — some would say it works better than the new release.

Yes, wordpress does insert the appropriate enclosure tags for basic podcasting needs but there are specific tags that itunes uses to recognize images (album art), sub titles, etc. in writing this post I found a link to WP-iPodCatter: WordPress iTunes Podcast Category @ Plugin http://garrickvanburen.com/wpipodcatter/ guess I’ll try this.
