why give the illusion that the thing is free by posting it here.

The Free Software in the GPL (Gnu Public License) does not refer to the price of the software. It refers to the freedoms you have once you have a licensed copy of the software.

When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not price.

Ron, you should still mention something about this being premium on the description page. Look at your feedback ratings for this plugin. You would have avoided all those 3 stars or less if you were a bit more upfront about the pricing.

That said, considering how much time Scribe might save a writer, I think the pricing may be justified. You just need to set expectations better. Your website does a good job of this.

    Agreed 🙂

Wow, I see Ron has ignored my advice and now this plugin has a 1.1 star average approval rating.

Such a shame because I have heard great things about Scribe.

If you believe in your product you should give a free restricted version so people can at least evaluate it with a premium paid version with all the bells and whistles as an upgrade if people are happy.

It is very misleading to try and pull the wool over peoples eyes by pretending your plugin is FREE when it is a paid product. Why don’t you play fair and at least mention it on the plugin page ‘This is a premium plugin that requires you to purchase a licence’

You are already getting yourself and your plugin a bad name with this silly charade 🙁
